has on our body, skin, nails and hair.
As most of us know, SPINACH is a dark green leaf and it provides us with iron. However that is a small percentage of what it really provides us with. Spinach was first to be discovered in Persia, then traveled to other neighbored countries such as India and China. This fantastic vegetable has tremendous amounts of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants to help our body, skin, nails and skin-so lets take a look.
On a day-to-day basis we should always supply our body with the necessary ingredients in order to keep us going and to maintain a healthy diet. Spinach contains many of the ingredients your body must have such as iron, vitamin A, C, E, K, B, potassium, zinc, calcium, omega-3 fats, copper, and protein- just to name a few. From previous articles we have learned that vitamin C and A are excellent sources of antioxidants which ride our body of free radicals which are harmful to our body, and is used to flush the bad toxins out of our system. They also help to reduce high cholesterol and reduce high blood pressure, and provides us with the right fatty substances.
As stated previously, SPINACH is packed with antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. The benefits of antioxidants for our skin is that it slows down the aging process of our skin cells while protecting our skin from the free radicals that try to speed this process. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, this green leaf flushes out the toxins that has built up over time and reduces redness and puffiness, which will strengthen our immune system and give us an amazing overall glow!
Spinach is believed to help thicken and strengthen nails and hair. Due to its vitamin A and C content, it helps to produce sebum (oil) that will naturally make your nails shiny, but also to coat your nails thus preventing dry, brittle nails. Since there is higher production of oil, this also acts as a natural conditioner, which will help the hair follicle to hold minerals and moisture thus resulting in stronger hair.
As part of our meals at BODY PRO, SPINACH is one of the most common ingredients we incorporate into our meals. We like to inform clients about the use of spinach plus how to add it easily into your meal plan.
To start incorporating SPINACH into you diet, try putting raw spinach into your smoothies along with other fruits, chop it up and replace lettuce for spinach for your salads, or lastly steam it and add it into your hot meals.
